Sem (formerly known as A$EM) is a versatile singer, rapper, and songwriter hailing from Willoughby Hills, a town in Northeast Ohio. After producing and rapping with his high school friends, Sem recognized his own real talent and began taking music seriously. Drawing inspiration from Logic, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar, Sem focuses on crafting lyrical songs that present a genuine picture of his life. His second album, Legend Lane, reminisces on life before music-making through contemplative lines on staying true to friends and his plans to defy the odds and succeed in the rap game. Sem has performed at The Grog Shop twice, opening up for Mozzy in the summer of 2019 and performing his own show for his album, Paradise II. He also opened up at the 2020 NVASION House Bash in January. His first official release following the name change, Sem, serves as a mixtape created completely during quarantine in 2020. Sem is a dedicated artist, spending hours each day either songwriting or recording at the studio, and he continues to develop a unique sound and perspective in the Cleveland music scene and beyond. Lookout for his upcoming project, Unsung Heroes, an album that reflects on his loyalty to his craft and his friends and his determination to succeed.
